[MV] Charging an 8 volt Battery

If I should go with an 8 volt battery versus a 6 volt, what should I do
about charging? Does anyone know if there are available voltage regulators
for the specific voltage needed to charging an 8 volt battery? -- And what
should this potential (voltage level) be?

Is it possible to add something to my current 12 volt charger? -- or will I
need something new?
