Gordon,
I don't think they would have put this item on the VC, as the
vehicle would have been re-classified as limited standard in 1942 or 1943,
and tactical vehicles would have had priority for receiving this part at
this time due to the build up of tactical units readying to deploy to
England, Africa, and the Pacific. I find it interesting that the wrecker
had one attached. However, it is your vehicle, and can do what you want
with it. I just don't think it would be historically correct, and need the
scabbard on my jeep (oops, that slipped out).
