James Wiehe could not write for a manual or "PS".
You said it yourself, "You could understand it."
If he wrote like that, there would be no need for a new manual or any
addendum. He would be out of work.
What he should do is sell it to the fan belt industry. They could train
the parts people that have no clue as to the meaning "Matched Belts".
