Chris,
I don't know of any manuals, but virtually everyone who has experience in the
service thinks the designation is backwards: instead of CFP-90 for "Combat
Field Pack 1990" is should be 90-PFC for "90% Piece of F***ing Crap" It is a
miserable, useless horror, which is why most Legs are still using the old
ALICE. This is why you can buy them second hand or brand new for $50.00 or
less.
Ok,ok, a few reasons why:
1. Actually has TOO much capacity. Once loaded, there's no way to properly
balance the load.
2. Main problem: Adjustment Track slips. If you crank the screws tight enough
for no slipping, they strip.
3. Main problem II: Grap the upper shoulder strap to lift the pack while it's
loaded, and it rips out the adjustment track. This cannot be repaired in the
field. And leaves the pack useless.
4. Seams split
5. Strap adjustments slip or break.
The patrol pack is decent, though. And you can just leave it in your MV, use
it like a duff.
