I don't have time to put in on this, right now. Here's the scoop: 1954
XM-211 deuce and a half truck. Rating is 2.5 tons off-road and 5 tons on
highways. Body is completely straight. Nice paint. Previous owner drove
it in parades, as it is, currently. Tires are fair, but really need
replacement. Winch is there, but engaging lever is not. Unknown if it
works. PTO does work fine. All wheel cylinders were just rebuilt, as was
the master cylinder. Cab has hardtop on it. Gauges all work, except for
gas gauge. Has all the lights, including convoy lamps, blackout lamps,
etc. Tranny won't go into 3rd. Unknown as to why. Linkage adjustment
needs to be looked at. That would explain it, right there. No tailgate,
but know where there are several. Airpack needs rebuilding or
replacement. Previous owner tried to rebuild it, but it still has a
problem. Brakes come on fine, but take about 4-5 seconds to release, for
some reason. Isolated problem to airpack brake booster. I'll throw in a
vaccuum booster to substitute, if desired. Motor is 302 GMC(gasoline).
Compression check shows 125-140 PSI on each cylinder but one, which
shows 40 PSI. Comes up to 70 PSI when you squirt a little oil in the
cylinder. That means rings are either stuck or broken on that cylinder.
Unknown which it is. There are no oil leaks on the truck. Motor is
clean. No oil patches on ground underneath truck. It has two brand new
batteries installed. Starts very easily.
Lots of extra parts. Here is the list, as far as I know: 3 (yep,
three) spare motors, one spare tranny, 3 spare axles with all the
goodies inside, extra gas tank, probably a generator (not sure). I'll
consider selling the extra parts separately, if someone wants them.
Truck runs right now. Just had it out, today. It is located in Duvall,
WA. That is about an hour east of Seattle. I can take pictures and email
them. I would consider a trade, if someone has something interesting.
Thanks. Jim
