Ron, in Wash State to license a truck as a historical veh and get
historical plates the vehicle must first be legally licensed as it is
originally with all fees current like tonnage etc. Then u can license it
as a historical vehicle BUT u can not use it to carry loads like fill
the tanks with water or whatever as that would be in violation of the
license. You can do the whole license bit at one time (dont have to make
it in two seperate events). I just got ok'd to hysterical my 1942 1.5T
chev and put a 1942 plate on it. Had to pay the tonnage and reg license
and then a one time historical lic fee and then no more fees for life of
the vehicle or until I want to change it into a work vehicle and carry a
load on it. Of course I will haul some of my MV stuff as part of the
display but not for hire or actual work vehicle.

CDL, I just went through this: If the gross weight of vehicle and
trailer is less then 28,000 lbs (it might be 35000 lbs) gross and or you
own the vehicle than u r exempt. But check first with DMV or look at
the wash.gov home site and find the veh laws (RCW's) Dewey, Pres of
Puget Sound MVCC
