Hi list,
Does anyone out there have two "screws" that are found in the exact center
of the drive flanges on the front hubs of the Scout Car (and probably
others)?
These are actually a bolt with a passageway in the center of the long axis
of the bolt and are tapped on the head for a grease fitting. The bolt (once
again it is properly referred to as a "screw" in the holy book) passes
through the flange and screws into the axle itself, serving to draw the axle
securely into the flange. The grease fitting permits grease to then be
directed through the outer half of the axle and directly onto the thrust
balls of the CVC joint.
I need two. I think they are 7/16" fine thread but I could be wrong.
