Well, I could say that having heard you pronounce your name he is
spelling it as it is heard, but then I don't recall having heard that
you and Ed have ever met, so bang goes that theory..........
Perhaps it is just that it is unnatural for us native English speakers
to spell "ehl"? Where as "el" is fairly common?
