The illustrations in my M939 series and M809 series operators manuals shows
the whiffletree being used to lift the towed vehicle. The towbar manual
clearly shows the towing chain assembly being used to lift the vehicle.
Would the 'slipping' motion from side to side by using the chain across the
wreckers hook allow smoother turns? and less binding than using a
whiffeltree?
