IR spotlights are typ[ically used with night vision equipment while driving.
The border patrol has a FLIR equipped truck for night use, and it has 2 IR
spotlights mounted on the front, and a HUD type display for the driver. that
allows the driver to drive at night in the desert at high speeds withought
any visable running lights.
