I don't call them that, I was trying to keep Winston Churchill happy
by providing all known names, but I missed one = core plugs and now
you have provided another = casting plug (probably the most sensible
name so far).
If we combine that with Andreas' "froststopfen" (which they don't) I
think that makes 5 English and 1 German name for the 1 item!
We call them "welsh plugs" out here, I have no idea why.
Calling them "frost plugs" or "freeze plugs" sounds weird to me as the
name would indicate they are designed to pop out if the cooling system
were to freeze. Considering what happened to me, perhaps mine was
equipped with "quick boil plugs"?
