Did you know it can take a full two hours to remove the head and blackout
lights from one of these trucks?
True, but I didn't break anything.
I'm finding that I have original head "light" assemblies. They are dated
Oct 9th 1942 and (if I remember right) are made of four parts, a reflector
bowl, a glass front lens, a ring that holds them together, and a bulb that
goes between.
Anyone know where to get the bulbs?
Also, does anyone know where I can get Gillespie paint besides RAPCO? I'd
really like to talk with them about it but have been unable to reach a live
person. I've also had some trouble with timely shipping and I'm worried I
won't get the paint in time. Don't get me wrong, RAPCO is a terrific
company, but shipping hasn't been his strong point.
Any other options?
Everything I've unbolted, Fenders, Running Boards, Brackets, etc, is going
to the bead blasting company tomorrow. They specialize in automotive and
I've seen their work on other restorations, so I'm not too
worried. Anything I should warn them about? Cautionary tales?
Thanks,
Chris Davis
