Howdy List,
Last week I picked up a Jeep 230 Tornado engine, clutch, and gearbox set
for my M725 Ambulance restoration from List Member Charlie Brown in
North Texas (thanks again Charlie). Upon inspecting a data plate on the
passenger side of the engine, it said that the engine had been rebuilt
at "RAD" on 5/11/74 using standard size pistons and main bearings. A
small triangular tag on the starter, mounted between the starter and
bell housing, said "RRAD" and 5/74.
My question is, what is RRAD? I figure it is an Army Depot, but I am not
familiar enough with these to know. Red River? Any help appreciated.
I am also looking for some M725 stuff. If any of you have any of the
following items, give me a shout. (I know about the usual sources of
supply but am just throwing it open to the list in case anyone wants to
clean out the garage!)
Two motor mounts and transmission mount.
Four wheel cylinders and one master brake cylinder.
Couple of sets of points and condenser.
Valve cover rubber gasket and the Acorn nuts shown in the parts manual
to hold down the valve cover.
Thanks in Advance!
