I had only one dissenter to my sale. He seemed to feel that the freedom of
the people of mainland China was linked to our purchase of their products.
He said it was not their people but rather their government that was holding
our people hostage (while 50,000 of theirs are running around U.S. in
school). Well, we certainly know the difference between what our people want
and what our gubbment does! So that is the otherside of the coin.
But I made a big fuss at the hardware store yesterday when I found an Ames
weed stabber for $13. I couldn't find the made in USA sign on it and it
looked like it came form China. Finally found USA stamped on it and bought
it.
People observing this old fool knew what I was up to and I enjoyed their
knowing smiles.
Interesting: the yellow ribbon being draped around Whidbey (Oak Harbor) came
from China. I hope the profit helps the poor in China. Arthur: I still
haven't found a buyer for these parts and now offer them at obo!
While Mr. President did well, I'm wondering when our servicemen will get the
raise in salary and benefits promised. Richard (unpensioned USMC vet)
