Is it just me?
Is the list becoming unfriendly lately? Do people forget that you should
consider what you write before hitting the send button? Think to yourself,
would I be able to say this to this persons face and not expect to get
smacked? I have gotten a number of emails from people from the list who
pepper their responses with smart-assed sarcasm and know-it-all attitudes.
Nothing helpful, no constructive critisism, nothing kind. Just snotty
responses that are not only quick to point out my errors but also what a
completely incompitent nincompoop I obviously must be.
All I did was post some very general points about how to avoid viruses,
hoping that a few general rules of thumb might be helpful along with some
also general opinion. And yes, I admit, I am no computer expert... NOR DO I
CLAIM TO BE. However, the list just seems to be FULL of people who are not
only quick to point out any error (which I do appreciate) but they are also,
if you'll pardon the term, PRICKS about it. I apologize if I was simply
trying to post something helpful. I apologize if Linux is better than the
stuff I use and I didn't defend Linux or Mac or whatever better.
And maybe its not only just me... there has been some nasty stuff thrown
about related to the new Mil Veh WWII list. Some of the stuff said through
anonymous e-mail are fighting words... if you went up to somebody and said
some of the things written in some of these posts in the smart-assed, snotty
ways in which they were written, you might well get your ass kicked.
Please people. Lets all try and get along friendly like. No point in getting
riled up over little details. I don't mind being corrected. I am one of
those weirdos who likes to learn new stuff. Just don't tell me what an
ignorant A-hole I am, too. Thats why I got married.
Let the flames and rudeness begin (again)
