Stake Pocket Reinforcements

Hi List,

The stake pockets on my M35 2-1/2 ton cargo body have rusted through as I am
sure many of them have.
It seems like if they had drilled a hole at the bottom of the pocket to let
the water drain out, this wouldn't have happened. Any way it does and I
have seen some trucks equipped with reinforcement plates welded to the
outside of the pockets and bed to cover the rusted areas and provide
additional strength in that area. These plates are die formed with a
vertical hat shaped cross section about 5-6 inches long blending into a
horizontal flange at the bottom. The hat section goes over the outside of
the pocket and the horizontal flange goes against the bed floor again on the
outside of the body.
I've never seen these for sale anywhere, but I thought I would check the
list to see if anyone might know of a source for them. I think I will also
check with some local truck body builders to see if they use anything like
it.
Thanks for your help.

Ken
