Camp Wolters and Camp Hood here in Texas are now Fort Wolters and Fort Hood.
Wolters was always an aviation meca I believe. During Vietnam, it was primary
helicopter flight training (T-55's), before going to advance training at Rucker.
Hood is well known as the armor and mech infantry post. While Fort Wolters is
now defunct (Texas State Rifle Assoc maintains a 1000 yard rifle range there),
Fort Hood is of course still blowing and going and is the largest military
installation (I think), in the world.
