There's a picture of something like this in "Modern US Military Vehicles" by
the venerable Fred Crismon. No specific designation noted but in the
previous paragraph there's a "small emplacement excavator" (SEE) described
which seems to be quite similar except it has a blade in front. It's based
on the MB U-900 (406) with OM 352 6 cylinder 110 horsepower diesel engine
and 20 speed transmission. Handled by Case, then Euclid, then Freightliner.
Lots of interchangable implements. Used in desert storm.
Sounds cool.

Subject: [MV] Truck mounted backhoe/loader
The Nat'l Guard units are rolling into Ft. Chaffee for summer camp and I
spotted arig on a rail convoy that completely baffles me. It resembles a
Unimog the size of a Toyota shortbed except for the 1100/20 tires. It has a
loader bucket @1 yard size and a backhoe attachment that folds onto the bed
of the truck. I couldn't find a manufacturer label on anything but the
tires. Anyone on the list have any info on this rig ?
