Doesn't this mean that they simply ship the winch with crappy, perhaps
undersized wire rope. From what I have seen most new electric winches made
for P/U trucks, etc are tremendously overrated. Most of the 9000 lb winches
are rated at 9000 lbs at 2 ft/min at 400 amps or something ridiculous like
that. At that rate the motor will fry after 10 minutes of hard pulling (if
your battery doesn't fry first). That is where the hydraulic winches really
shine.
