Dick was going to revolutionize the winching world with his "Hickey
Sidewinder" electric winch. His tabloid

to the marketing of 4WD equipment was second only to Ron Popeil of "Ronco
Vegomatic" fame.

I have a book put out by Portrayal Press called, " Vehicle Recovery and
Field Expedients "
dated from 1952.
In it you will find out all sorts of winching techniques such as pulling
yourself out backwards
with a front mounted winch.
