I have welded several gas tanks by this method-- hook flex exhaust pipe to
running vehicle -- stick other end in gas tank -- empty -- run vehicle until
tank is hot to touch- turn vehicle off and weld - heat drys tank and
evaporates gas i suppose
I also sell steam cleaners to afford to play with green trucks and I have
customer that manufactures gasoline tanks -gas storage - and welds over the
road gas truck tanks -- he hooks steam cleaner up -- real steam cleaner not
high pressure hot water washer - and when steam comes out of dome he then
welds tank. Has been doing this for several years.
