Keith,
The 6th Infantry Division, at Fort Richardson Alaska, would have had some of
their vehicles painted in Winter camouflage colors. That's basically a white
base coat and about 10% black to break up the outline. Lettering would have
been black, in the standard locations. That's the way that we painted some
of our equipment when I was with the 205th Infantry Brigade back in the mid
80's. We were the third (round-out) Brigade for the 6th Infantry Division,
so our equipment should have been painted to match theirs. By the way, not
all of ours (or theirs, I assume) was painted in Winter colors. It's not
always Winter in Alaska, or Minnesota, for that matter. (It just seems like
it!!!)

Subject: [MV] M100--White paint
Good morning list,
The only other MV I own, besides my mules, are a M100 trailer. The
main thing I pull it with is a 1990 Jeep ( I know, I need a M38A1 or M151).
My Jeep is white, so I would like to paint the trailer to match. What US
Army units would have used the M100 with white paint? I'm thinking perhaps
1st. SFG or 10th. Div. Anybody have any ideas?
I don't care what year or era, as long as it would be proper to have it
white. I also need location and type of markings (stars, unit #, veh. #,
etc.)
Many thanks!!!!!!!
Keith in TN.
Oh, by the way:
Islander,
I wish we lived closer to each other. I've always wanted a weasel
and have hoped I could trade a mule for one, someday. Good luck with your
new toy! I have as many mules as you have weasels, although most don't run.
