Not applicable, these have no Bendix spiral, these have a trip relay, the
pinion gear is rigidly connected to the armature shaft. On energisation the
field and armature are connected in series causing the armature to turn
slowly and the field magnetism pulls the whole armature and gear into
itself. When the pinion is fully meshed the second contact set of the
internal relay is mechanically tripped and the main supply is made to the
armature which now rotates under full power.

These are, watertight too.
I can send Jack the scans from the RR manual which covers these, however
they are readily available new here. The starter is the same for all B
Range engines, fours, sixes and eights.
