Actually I referring to MVPA bylaws that do not limit the vehicles to WWII US
origin, however there are some MEMBERS (not necessarily candidates) who think
it should be a WWII US origin only group.

<<You don't wait til your office is challenged to start calling rules
committee meetings and changing bylaws.>>

PLEASE SPECIFICALLY site what bylaws were changed at any time to specifically
inhibit the candidacy of any MVPA member. If this specific information can
be provided I will continue a dialog. IF it cannot, I need not respond to
rumor and ruckmaking.

Lets see, if we ignore today's 10-11 year olds, soon they will be 16 and
chasing girls, next they will be in their 20's and married, and to them our
HMV's will be so much loud scrap iron, how will we interest them at that time
and keep our hobby alive? Neither, you, I or anyone else on this list will
live forever. Do you personally know many people who collect Spanish
American War wagons, how about W.W.I trucks? I don't, I do know some who
collect WWII, and myself I do Vietnam war. WHY? Folks weren't exposed to
W.W.I vehicles as a collectible early enough, they were scrapped, and now
there aren't enough left to foster a widespread interest in them among youth
OR adults.

The major issue is that MVPA members here should vote for the candidate of
THEIR choice, who represents THEIR issues. NO ONE should ever vote for a
specific candidate simply because they were told to. If being helpful and a
good ol' boy is the foremost issue in a members mind, that is the criteria
they should use in selecting a candidate (works well nationally, although
usually refereed to as pork-barrell politics), if a particular stance on a
particular issue is important, then that is how you should vote. I have met
many wonderful people in this hobby who have provided technical support for
my projects....does this earn them my vote? NO, not if we disagree on the key
issues (but that's just me).

The major point, VOTE, if you don't vote (or join), you have no right to
gripe.

Getting off my stump now,
David Doyle
