While operating on public roads, legally tagged etc., your answer to Sgt.
Richard Head, of the MD ANG, short form is, "Lick Me".
If on a Federal Installation, ( say like, Ft. Lee, Air Force Bases for
air shows etc.) with real MP's or government rental cops, using vehicles
that are still or very recently were in inventory, be respectful and very
careful how you act and respond, cause you're on their turf. Replying with
"Foxtrot Uniform, I'm a US citizen, driving a vehicle I bought with MY money
after you dopes got done with it" to their questions is a quick way to get
an interesting and time consuming discourse and education on what rights you
DON'T have on a federal installation. Pack a lunch.
If you are going to carry spare parts in your vehicle, it may look cool
to have all those neat little boxes with the official NSN's all over them,
but on fed turf during a routine traffic stop, it's also a pack a lunch
idea. Repack your parts in plain handwritten labeled envelopes or boxes with
no Gov't. nomenclature (NSN's etc) if you intend to carry them on Gov't.
installations. If you never been stopped at a random check point stop at
2130 hours on an AF Base and had your car tossed by two serious 19 year old
AP's with a Military Working Dog looking for contraband, you don't know the
meaning of overzealous. I had all kinds of fun when they found insulin
syringes (and insulin) and I couldn't produce a prescription form on the
spot. But that's another story. The new Alice packs and frames I had on
board were also of interest, but were explained by the Air Force Liaison
Officer we had assigned to CAP who lived on base. Federal marked property in
a civilian vehicle on a military base equals heart to heart conversations
with handcuffs.
The same rectal depressions that you run into in civilian life, also get
to wear uniforms from the various branches of our military. Occasionally
these two tendencies come together and result in an Alpha Hotel with actual
power, but the respondent Police Officer is usually a regular Joe like you
or I, who has usually spent some quality time with US Govt. in the past and
remembers vividly running into Sgt. Richard (you can call me Dick ) Head at
some time or other. Most former military troops will look at an HMV and say
" Wow, the shit we had never looked this good !"
Now, putting the bumper numbers of your local Guard or Reserve unit
doesn't strike me as the brightest thing to do, but it's a free country, as
long as your lawyers are good and your money holds out. Just ask Bill Gates.

And in regards to the one comment from another poster on Ken Uhrick's
posts, Get a life! Ken keep posting. If it wasn't for spell check, they'd
be after me too. Ken offers info and insights acquired over a life time,
just like the rest of us. Think of how much info we are missing out on as
people who maybe don't use English as a primary tongue, or speak it or write
it a little shaky, but find this list and see the occasional flame on bad
syntax or spelling, and don't post. It's all OUR loss.
