This is good advice. I have a TH350 tranny behind a 388 stroker SB Chevy
motor. I replaced the old radiator with one with more cores and a large
High Efficiency tranny cooler. I tow trailers, among other things, and
have had no problems with my K5 Blazer.

If you change the fluid every 25,000 miles max, you should be good for at
least 100,000 miles.
