I have misplaced my Generious Electric bulb book but I found my Phillips
bulb book. If I am deciphering the above correctly then what you have is a
trade lamp number (that's what the colum is identified as) of 1662.
A 1662 is identified as follows:
*Primary Application: construction equipment
*Bulb Family: S-8 which means a bulb shape of "S" which looks like your
basic taillight bulb and a diameter of 8/8" or 1"
*Gas filled
*Design volage: 28V
*Dual filament Filament 1 Filament 2
Voltage(design) 28V 28V
Amperage 0.93A 0.34A
Wattage 26W 9.5W
CandlePower 32.0 6.0
Rated Life 400 Hr 1000 Hr
* Base: D.C. Index, which is the basic indexed tail light type, only goes
one way.
* Max overall length: 2.0"
And a few other specs that get a little silly.
There is an interesting note however. It says, for the 1662, that the
filament wiring is reversed to the 1157 which is your basic 12V garden
variety tail light bulb.
You know, this all looks familiar now. Some time back we had a thread about
24V dual filament bulbs to put into normal trailer tailight housings that
were 24V. As I recall this bulb was the only dual filament (as in two
seperately controllable filaments) that was available in 24V but the pins on
the base are reversed from normal taillights so you'd have to not only
change the bulbs on your trailer, you'd also have to switch the wires. I
don't recall the thread going any further than that.
good luck,
je
