early M151 vehicles were not fitted with turn signals, but local purchase of
turn-signal parts was authorised in a supply bulletin as early as March 1962.
Many earlier Mutts were retro-fitted with turn signals. However, the
"three-nut" configuration under each wing (fender) would seem to indicate
that someone has added a BO Headlight to the passenger-side fender, then for
some reason, welded 3 nuts in a similar configuration on the driver's side
fender. This latter addition should have been unneccessary.
If the configuration of the welded nuts shows two nuts close together at the
front of the fender(parallel with each other), with the third nut located
further towards the rear, but spaced in a "Y" format, then it is likely that
it was for an additional BO Head.

Why not just hold the BO lamp over the holes and see if they align?

Kind regards..
Ken
