Well, after the abundant wealth of information I
received on installing the SLGR military GPS receiver
in the M1009 (I must be the only one on here that has
one of these, I suppose)...let's try a different
question...
Does anyone know the NSN for the correct mounting kit
to install the AN/VRC-47 set into the M1009 CUCV? The
parts I need are just the CUCV factory mounting plates
(for a reasonable price if anyone has spares,
please...). From the pictures I've seen, they're
black and fairly rudimentary. I already have the
VRC-64 and R-442 with MT-1029 and MT-1898
respectively...I also have a large, CARC green
mounting plate for the MT-1029 and MT-1898. These are
not the factory CUCV mounting plates -- I think the
plates I have bolt onto the factory mounting plates
and the MT- mounts bolt onto those plates...if any of
that makes sense. An installation bulletin would be
helpful also.
I've looked at Andy's site (many times!) and it was
very helpful, but I really need specific dimensions,
NSN's and those plates.
Here is a good view of the black plates I need...

My CARC green mounting plates don't look like that, by
the way...they have 5 evenly-spaced holes down each
side...
Thanks for any help...hopefully, many more folks have
this sort of thing than the GPS unit...maybe when I
get my GPS installed, I'll put up a webpage on how to
do it for others to refer to...

p.s. I'm actually installing a VRC-64 and R-442 for
now, but the plates will be the same for the
VRC-47...now if I can find a good RT-524 for a sane
price...:-)
