The last few days have been very interesting.. A friend that finds a lot of
my junk bought a nice footlocker from a neighbor a while back. He hauled it
over here yesterday...Today I searched through all the stuff that a WW2 AAA
soldier saved up..In the pile of small meaningless treasures..were a lot of
16 m/m films..the small ones... from the early 50's. There were some shorts
of artillery units in action..and some halftrack AAA units in action with
the quad .50's.....
also a lot of negatives..in the negatives are a lot of stills of
halftracks..Sherman's, trucks, M38's..troops.. Some great stuff..aslo a
newsreel Castle Films - of WW2
at Darwin , Australia, Midway..and the Carrier Lexington being shot up and
on fire..Fantastic stuff.. Not to mention a Remington Rand in a holster and
a duv 41 K98 Rifle...
I hope the SFC tha owned it all is up there with big George and the rest of
the greats.. I'll be getting the negatives printed..Gene
