Well, the timing was bad, but I wonder how the Germans would have done
if we hadn't sent all that lend-lease material to bail out Russia?
And, how things would have gone if we hadn't baited the Japanese into
the war in the Pacific, and they had gone after the Russians instead? A
two front war on the Russians would have been a pretty dicy thing, I
imagine; especially if we had sat on the sidelines.
Golly, there's lots of what-if's there. One of the big ones is if the
Germans had managed to destroy the Brits at Dunkirk; another example of
Fatty's - oops, Goering's - total mess up of the Luftwaffe.
