Hi folks...
Thanks for all the tips on the rifle
racks...especially the cup holder. I may have to put
a rack in the front just for that!
As military weapons are another hobby of mine, I'm
intimately familiar with the differences between the
M16, the A1, and the A2 versions...my AR-15 is the A2
version with round handguards. When all else fails,
FORCE IT! I pulled pretty hard on the retainer and
the rifle popped in place quite securely...makes a
nice coat/shirt rack too when the rifle is in there.
:-)
I'm going to put a picture of the rifle in the mount
so others can benefit from my silly question (though
it was pretty difficult to get the rifle in there...at
one point, I feared for my fingers when the retainer
finally snapped in place...same with removing the
rifle!)

p.s. Who has an original set of manuals for the
CUCV's and how much were they? I have them on PDF
format, but I think it would be cheaper to buy the
originals than print it out...:-)
p.p.s. Anyone have any ideas as to USMC CUCV markings?
This one simply had "USMC" with the number stenciled
on the side...no other markings that I could see.
