Hi List...

My road trip to Reno this past weekend with my M35A2 and the M1007
Suburban CUCV in tow was a success! No damage except a broken rear
size passenger door glass and a shot-out side mirror on the CUCV and
added pine tree patina on the sizes of both vehicles...this is all
expected battle damage. My 5th gear sounds VERY loud now, so I may
need to do some repairs on the trans...we'll see. This too is
acceptable.

We had 117 people playing in our combat sim this weekend and many of
the troops commented on how cool it was to ride in a real deuce!

This was my first MV rental arrangement...the producer of the combat
sim paid me $1075 for the two vehicles for the weekend!

I put 600 miles on the deuce, 35 of them in severe off-road conditions
transporting the troops back and forth between the front lines and
camp. I made it up there and back on just over a tank of fuel, which
I thought was pretty good considering the full load of cargo plus the
6,000-lb Suburban dragging along behind on the journey from sea level
here at my home up to the 7,700 foot elevation where the combat sim
was held.

I'll have photos posted soon of the troops in the vehicles.

We have video of some first-time deuce riders jumping out of the back
in response to the commander's ordering "GO GO GO GO!!!"...several of
the troops' legs collapsed on impact with the ground, and the
following troops jumped right onto them! It was hard to hold back the
laughter! Everyone was OK.
