The end of the tail.
The first issue that started it all was when I came out hardcore in support
of a neighbor south of me who owns a auto repair shop.
Had been in business for 20 years in the same spot.
Same clowns came after him on R1 zoning.
We loudly changed some minds on that one, and I tend to make a little more
noise than some.
So it seemed that I might be an easy target.
I looked like an easy touch, I seen to some to be kinda uneducated, a bit
daffy, and poor.
Those that fall for it and try to take advantage, generally don't come out
to well.
When they were told by the folks that DO know, that I was a fight they did
not want, they went after a rent house across the street,
to make an example in my neighborhood, and come after mine next (this was
said by the Fire Marshal, and Building Inspector to the demo contractor).
In a brother-in-law deal that was not well thought out, they had the house
destroyed the day after the city council gave the ok (can you say
collusion).
In the end the Fire Marshal WAS retired early, the inspector was canned,
Fire Chief left town as did the City Planned and City Manager.
Last I heard the owner was considering a 7 figure settlement, due to a
federal law suit.
And to think, if they had offered me $100K on mine I would have moved out
and helped em tear it down, they could have save over $900K!
They just kept looking for a week link, and found they was IT.
It ain't city hall, it's the folks on the payroll, and the issues they bring
to the job!

I mean what EVENTUALLY happened.
If this was me, I would have a ten foot tall hedgerow by now on that strip
of sidewalk. The house would be PURPLE with GOLD trim, and I would be
playing loud music twenty four hours a day.
This story just infuriates me.

Well, Rikk, I read the entire "ancient History" and now I'm dying to know
what actually happened?
There certainly is more here than meets the eye! I think the big old,
yeelow school bus is not such a bad idea. Of course, this will irritate
your neighbors more than the city....
