Hello again...
Thanks for the responses to my last question...from
the replies, it appears that M1009's did not
originally have armrests installed (I thought it odd
that mine had one...there is none on the left, btw).
That leads me to the next question -- would anyone
around here know the BEST way to remove it. i.e. No
cutting torches, please...:-) I'd like to be able to
reinstall it later if I get the notion to yank the
radios out...
I looked at it and noticed there are three (I think)
fasteners that appear to be torx fasteners. I'm not
sure if that would do it though. If anyone has a
mid-80's Blazer or Jimmy they could eyeball and tell
how to get that armrest off of there, that would be
great. The support arms for the shelf will not
connect with the armrest there. (That's probably why
M1009's didn't have armrests on the rear
seat...apparently, my rear seat had been replaced...)
ALSO ---> the mounting plate I have is not the correct
one for the radio shelf in the CUCV. The plate I have
mounts up fine with the MT-1029 but the holes on the
outside edges do not line up with the radio shelf. It
would appear from SB 11-131 that I am in need of
mounting kit MK-2449/VRC (NSN 5820-01-185-9225) for
the curbside VRC-64. MK-2419/VRC (NSN
5820-01-175-2106) may also work -- it's for the VRC-47
(just need that plate for the MT-1029). I really
don't need the whole kit though...just the mounting
adapter plate B4030088. (Thanks to Andy's CUCV site
for that tidbit of info...:-) )
If anyone can throw any leads my way on this stuff, I
would appreciate it. I think the plate I have must be
for an M151 series. It's marked SC-D-446231
(SC=Signal Corps?) and is CARC green.
You guys are a great help...seems like whenever I have
a question, there are lots of folks with accurate
information willing to help! Thanks!
