With all due respect. . . I understand somewhat about cookies, privacy, etc.
Truth is, eBay and a lot of other places on the Web have done things I'm not
happy about however I do want to point out one thing .
eBay gives you the absolute right to not have cookies, and that is by opting
out of eBay.
eBay is a business, it's like a store on the boulevard. You walk past the
store and see what's happening inside. There is a sign on the outside which
says
"We have certain policies and procedures which we require our customers to
follow. Here they are (and they list them). If you are willing to accept
these policies and procedures, please come in. If you don't feel comfortable
with them, you do not have to come in. Thank you".
It's the same thing w/eBay. While it's a publicly traded company, it's still
a private business. None of us are forced to use eBay. True, there are
certain rules it must follow by law (non-discrimination, etc.) but past
those things, it has the right to conduct it's business as it likes just as
I have the right to not become a customer. It's a balancing of wants, needs
and priorities as I see it.
I have no ownership interest in eBay and as I said, I have had a couple of
differences with it but I still have to respect the fact it is a private
business and no one forces me to use it. If I choose to use eBay, then I
make the choice to accept and live with its rules.
Just my 9mms worth here (that's like 2 cents).
As for MV content: I'm glad (I think) to say my M37B1, which I said I have
to sell, will be going to a very nice former "Klingon Marine". He belongs to
a MV club, has a young son who he is teaching about MVs and will be using
the M37 in parades, etc. While I will miss it, I'm pleased it's going to
what I feel will be a good, loving home. I even get visitation rights if I
ask.
Hopefully (for me) I'll get a new lease on the old body and then will go
look for that White Scout Car or Duce and a half to turn into a gun truck.
Thanks for reading.
David
