The "new fee" applies to the VI Inspection "Green Form" (which verifies the
VIN). This also goes into effect November 1,2001.
Simply take your documents of ownership or bill of sale with the Texas
application for "Antique Military Vehicle Registration" and the required
photograph of the front 3/4 view to your Tax Assessor Collector Office.
Since the form VI Inspection is really to verify VINs for "Out of State"
Transfers, you can request that another form be substituted for it, namely
the VIN Verification form which can be signed by any local Texas Peace
Officer. That is what I did.
