two ways i kknow both take tools
# one a dial indicator down the spark plug hole and move the crank for
the highest reading
# on small black chevys welded a rod in old spark plug and put
that in ther #1 spark plug hold with a deg wheel on the crank turn
the crack both ways till the piston hits the rod and note
the reading's on the deg wheel and TDC is 1/2 way inbewen the two reading

note turn the motor only by hand
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and in chevy shove bolt 6's the #1 spark plug wire gos at 6
o'clock looking at the motor from the side that the desbter is on
right side for the one i had
#3
there should be a timing mark some ware mite be on back of
flywheel looking in a hole i
that should be the ez way with out tools
