Jim-
Were the wheels you got at the junkyard 6 1/2" or 8" wide. The width of
the rim is the only thing that I know of that is a little different on the
CUCV rims. The Blazer used the 8" width. Some civilian trucks did, too.

Hi Ted...

I did a LOT of research on CUCV wheels (M1009 and others) and
determined that you are correct that M1009s always used 15" 6-bolt and
all others used 16" 8-bolt.
M1009s never used 16" wheels.
CUCVs did not have special wheels...they are the exact same as the
civilian wheels. If you choose to use the 15" wheels, you need not
search for "CUCV" wheels. There's no such thing.
>Oh, and asking prices?
Go to your local junk yard and pick out 5 of their best 6-bolt Chevy
truck wheels, then have them bead blasted and powder coated
medium-luster black. That's what I did and they look beautiful! Just
be sure the boneheads remove the old weights before they powder coat
them (my powerboats neglected to do this, but luckily the weights were
all on the backsides of the wheels!).

Again, I would suggest the Buckshot Mudders for your 15" 6-bolt
wheels. They make 3 different sizes. You'll like these tires because
they go right on to stock wheels and are very tall and narrow and very
military looking. Here's a link to the supplier:

Good luck.
