     No mystery here..... These are circa 1960's USMC water cans. I have
four of them and Terry at White Owl had a bunch for sale a few years ago.
While these are the same era as the Mighty Mite they are not specifically
for the Mite. The Mite did not carry water cans as standard equipment. It
was the USMC M-416 B-1 trailers that carried two of these cans (one on each
side) just in front of the fenders. The earlier XM-585 series Mighty Mite
trailers also carried them in the fender wells.
