To get back to some technical details here for a minute. I am now thinking
that it was a pair of PE95's that I passed up a couple years ago. They were
powered by Willys jeep engines. My main reason for passing on them was that
I did not like the control/regulator system, basically there was none. I
talked to someone more learned than I on mil radio stuff and he confirmed
that, what ever it was that I was looking at, basically ran the field in
saturation. This would mean, among other things, that the output voltage
would change with power factor, something that would not be desirable for
running electric motors. Can anyone confirm that this is in fact the way
PE95's are done ???
