M274 Mule history

My fellow Tennessee mule skinner Keith Byrd's previous post about the
various M274 mule models brought to mind some
questions that I have concerning the production history of the M274.
The M274A3 was originally the M274 and the M274A4 was originally the
M274A1, both having their original 4 cylinder Willys engines replaced
with the 2 cylinder 2A042 Hercules
engine.
My question is: what manufacturer did these conversions and when was
the time frame?
Also, can anyone tell me the locations of the following mule
manufacturers and if they are still in business/changed names?:
M274A2 - Bowen-McLaughlin York
M274A5 - Baifeld Industries 1965-69
M274A5 - Brunswick Corp. Technical Products division.1968-1970
I am also looking for any photos on the various mule models, especially
photos of mules in combat, as well as any
magazine articles on the mule. I am collecting mule history for either
a future magazine article or perhaps a web site.
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
