Not necessarily. The older wheels are riveted, the newer are welded. BTW,
most wheels have the date of mfr stamped into them..useful when dating
vehicle.
On riveted construction wheels, when tire is dismounted make sure that the
inner heads of the rivets have not deteriorated due to rust. Also, make sure
rust deposits are not forming between the rim and center, and forcing the
pieces apart.
If you find either to be the case, destroy the rim to prevent reuse, and buy
another...they are cheap and plentiful...much more so than human body parts.
BTW, regarding earlier question, the single wheels have a 5 1/2 inch offset,
the duals have a 6 3/16 offset.
