Is this the 834-4509 M215 DUMP TRUCK (G-749) ? >>
Joe,
Actually, I believe this is a G-742 series type truck, a M342A2 NSN
2320-00-077-1643.
What we (collectors) usually call M35 type trucks, the government first
called the G-742 series. This described the whole chassis type, whereas M35
is a specific model. Nowadays, they are officially referred to as the
"TM-209-series" trucks.
Without looking, as I recall the G- number system went away in the late
1950's.
The G-749 series are the GMC Hydramatic equipped trucks, the cargo variants
are M135 and M211.
Hope this helps,
David
