Hmm, converting a cargo to a tractor? First let me point out that the 5th
wheel plate on ebay is a 5 ton unit as seen by the ramps included in the
pics. It should still work though. The frame length wont hurt a bit but you
would have to shorten the frame aft the rear axles. Also for consideration
is adding the trolley brake and air lines to control trailer brakes. Then
you would have to fabricate a porch behind the cab to walk on while hooking
up Brake hoses. Oh, don't let me forget putting a trailer wiring plug behind
the cab. I suppose you could fab up extensions from the rear trailer plugs
and air lines but you wouldn't have the trolley brake. Hey Mark, while I'm
thinking about it, the extra frame rail length between the cab and 5th wheel
plate would be a great place to add a knuckle boom for all that heavy
lifting. Sounds interesting!!!!!!
