Hi Jack,
If you go to any electronics parts supplier they can give you a contact
person for the local Ham Radio club. Nearly all of the radio
clubs teach classes on the various liscenses available (now 4 in the usa I
believe). Most local clubs have a volunteer examiner corp that gives the
tests. Classes are usually free and the tests are now about $7 a
