Hi Jim and list,
The South Carolina National Guard is driving Suburbans! They are solid
colors but they do have them. I saw two at a National Guard event recently.
Had blackout lights, pintle hitches, radios and a few other items. They
were military looking to me.

I totally understand your comment, and I actually totally agree with
it.
Just so you understand my motivation, I am pursuing my M1007 project
to see how close I can make my civilian Suburban appear to be original
military issue in every way. I wanted a good daily driver, but a CUCV
M1009 was too small for my family (wife, 3 kids, and a dog plus
camping gear). I wanted to be able to go off road through HARD
terrain at least 50 miles, so a Suburban it was. An M1009 would have
been too small for us.
Your point is VERY well taken!
As far as the "correct" desert camo paint goes, it is again in my
tireless quest to create a realistic rendition of what a CUCV Suburban
_WOULD_ have looked like had they been issued.
I hope you understand my motivation in building my M1007, and I hope
that because I have a _REAL_ M35A2 (not a KIA or re-bodied U-Haul
truck), that that will vindicate me as a true MV enthusiast in your
eyes! ;) I really am!
