Multi-Fuel ??

Could someone, or possibly many people, knowing how you guys are, please
enlighten me on the finer points of Multi-Fuel?? I've seen lots of 2 1/2s
listed as multi-fuel and several multi-fuel heaters for sale, etc. but I
don't quite understand the concept, except for what's obvious from the name
:-).
