As a Stalwart owner tyre matching is a well known and essential facet of
ownership.

However, whilst it can be seen that a mismatch on a dual rear axle set-up will
have the axles fighting each other and slip must occur, the case of dual wheels
is often overlooked.

A pair of mis-matched tyres on a dual wheel axle is just the same, one or both
have to slip as they try to go different distances in one revolution, its not
immediately obvious and the penny only dropped here seeing an illustrated
American WWII military tyre care chart re-printed in the MVT "Windscreen" some
months ago.
