if you read your operators manual (you guys have one, right) you will
see that the m-35 with the ld-465 and ldt-465 has the governor set at
2650. this is to give you the OPTION of max power for very short time
periods. the engine was never meant to run more than the LOW 2000 rpm
range for extended periods. the lds-465 governor is set at 2850 which is
even more scary. how many trucks have you seen at drmo's with large
holes in the side of the block ??? if you have access to a gps, they
will give you a VERY accurate speed since the faster you go the more
accurate they become, 50 is fast enough to be less than 1/10 mph error.
